Water Treatment and Purification Project ( Research in organic chemistry)
●Goal: purify pond water of various contaminants to make it drinkable
●Stratified sampling based on the characteristics of each region (Ten regions). Used Sedimentation, filtration, boiling, precipitation, and distillation
●Distillation is considered the most effective technique even though It is ultimately unfeasible
●Most realistic: a combination of sedimentation and filtration to remove debris from the water followed by boiling to eliminate microbial life.
●Result: produced a sample that met EPA standards for all contaminants tested
